American made 'The .38 Chiefs Special' small frame double action revolver chambered in .38 Special. Manufactured in Springfield, MA, between 1968 and 1982, with the heavy barrel standardized in 1975. Features a blued finish with case colored serrated curved trigger, checkered service hammer with exposed firing pin, 3" barrel, non-shrouded ejector rod, serrated ramp front sight, square notched rear sight, fluted five-shot cylinder, checkered wood Magna grips with S&W medallions. Retains approximately 99% finish with no apparent edge wear or other losses. Action is smooth with very good lock-up, the bore is excellent with strong rifling, cylinder chambers are excellent, and the grips have no loss. Comes with factory box, manual, and bore brush. Manufactured early 1980's.
